INTRO MUSIC - E. Glomski

So, what do you all think of our intro song? It's called "Momma Sed" and is one of the latest creations of Puscifer, Maynard's side project. I thought the change and growth themes were fitting for the transformation I see going on in the Arizona Wine Industry. Our Desert Wine landscape will look very different several years from now. Wine bars are popping up everywhere, vineyards are being planted, and I hear about new, exciting winery projects frequently. We're going to send our wines out for review by the Big Boys pretty soon (Spectator, Enthusiast etc.) - so get ready. It's time for Arizona. (p.s. If you think the Desert is strange place for grapes, think again. Where were the first grapes cultivated? The Middle East.)

Wake up son of mine
Momma got somethin' to tell you
Changes come
Life will have its way
With your pride, son
Take it like a man

Hang on son of mine
Storm's blowin' up your horizon
Changes come
Keep your dignity
Take the high road
Take it like a man

Listen up son of mine
Momma got something to tell you
All about growin' pains
Life will pound away
Where the light don't shine, son
Take it like a man

Suck it up son of mine
thunder's blowin' up your horizon
Changes come
Keep your dignity
Take the high road
Take it like a man

"Like the rain,
Like a kidney stone,
It's just a broken heart, son.
This pain will pass away."

Eric,
We're very excited to be 'witness' to the growth of AZ wines and look forward to some exceptional vintages and good times along the way. Love the Stronghold website - make sure Fabian does some blogging of his own (if he can find the time).

Looking forward to the wine tasting in Chandler. My fiancee and I have made the trip up to Page Springs a couple times for Caduceus, thankfully this isn't as much of a drive!

From a sustainability point of view where does the water come from to support your vineyards in Cochise County?

Eric,

Can't wait to try the TAZI. When will ASV wines be available in Tucson? I like the theme of family support through adversity in the song.

RE: Water and Suatainability

ASV sits on the edge of the Willcox Playa. Unlike typical watersheds where small channels flow into bigger ones, and so on, until they reach the ocean - a playa is a closed watershed where all the water flows to the middle. Because of this there is a huge underground water source in our valley. Grapes are, by far, the most arid adapted crop currently being commercially grown in Arizona (several times less water use that citrus, alfalfa and cotton) as many varietals originated in the middle east. So...I is this sustainable? As an ecologist (my previous career), I feel sustainability is a very elusive concept. Do I (we) hold ideals of sustainability? Absolutely. Could I go on for hours about this subject? Absolutely.

Chad,

I'll check with Quench - our distributor. I'm not sure, but will know soon.

I just wanted to say that I love the song. I live in Phoenix and I had a chance to meet you at one of the wholefoods. I am excited about the wines. My husband and I like to take day trips to Sedona and Jerome so we will stop and visit someday. It's going to be exciting to see Arizona become a wine growing state. I am very proud to say I am from Arizona and have family history dating back 100 years here.
Thanks!
Stefanie

That song was awesome! Quite appropriate for the new venture. I've been researching you guys for quite sometime and will be up to check out the vino. It's about time for you all to show what Arizona is capable of. The big boys (WS especially) have been somewhat kind lately to AZ wines. Let's hope they keep it up.

Absolutely Amazingly Powerful Lyrics and Music. One of the many musical choices on my forever to listen to list.
On a side note and in keeping with the theme. When might the Stronghold wines blow their way up to the Canadian Horizon?

thank you
